Sourjit Moharana is a CORU-registered and Chartered Physiotherapist and a member of the Irish Society of Chartered Physiotherapists (ISCP). He graduated with a degree in Physiotherapy from the Swami Vivekananda National Institute of Rehabilitation Training & Research (SVNIRTAR), India, in 1998. He is also a Member of the Indian Association of Physiotherapists (MIAP).


After working in various hospitals and rehabilitation centres in India, Sourjit migrated to Ireland in 2003. He has since been living and working in Waterford, initially at University Hospital Waterford and later moving to Waterford Primary Care Centre, where he continues to work as a Senior Physiotherapist.


He completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Orthopaedic Manual Therapy from Curtin University, Australia, in 2004, followed by a Master of Manual Therapy from University of Western Australia in 2010. He also holds Level II membership of the International Federation of Orthopaedic Manipulative Physical Therapists (IFOMPT).


With over 27 years of clinical experience, primarily in the field of musculoskeletal physiotherapy, Sourjit has a special interest in sub-acute, chronic, and complex musculoskeletal conditions. He has worked across all primary care centres in East and West Waterford and is well known among local communities and general practitioners. He has played a key role in developing physiotherapist-led Foot Orthotics Clinics and Dry Needling services within Waterford Primary Care.


To extend his clinical expertise to a wider population, Sourjit has established a private physiotherapy clinic located at Airport Business Park, Waterford. He is committed to delivering high-quality physiotherapy with empathy in a supportive and friendly environment.


In addition to his clinical practice, Sourjit lectures on Dry Needling courses both nationally and internationally. He has delivered more than 50 Dry Needling courses, training hundreds of clinicians in myofascial pain and trigger point dry needling. He advocates a multimodal, evidence-informed approach, integrating multiple schools of thought to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
